Pastor Frederick A. Purnell is the firstborn son of Elder Owens Purnell and Evangelist Janet Purnell.  He accepted Christ at an early age and his call to ministry shortly thereafter, ministering as a psalmist and musician. Pastor Purnell’s tenure of service in the Church of God in Christ had been faithfully rendered in a variety of ways and at every level possible for the general believer for 19 years. He was then recognized as an Elder in 1991 under Shekinah Glory – Faith Ministries, in Fayetteville, NC and then ordained in June 1993 in the Greater Faith Temple Church of God in Christ, and appointed President of the Music Department and President of the Outreach Ministry in the self same year.

In May 1994, he was appointed Pastor in the United Fellowship Ministries. His dualistic duties were Chief Administrator over the local body and the Planning and General Overseer over the national conventions. He also served in seniority over the Music Department which included the praise and worship team and the local and regional choirs. He served faithfully in this position for two years after which he began to move in his apostolic calling, going about to help un-established churches, setting them up administratively and evangelistically. He became a valuable asset to several churches; some of which are flourishing prosperously.

In January 26, 1996, Pastor Purnell began the work of the Solid Foundation Word of Knowledge Ministries, Inc. Family Worship Center, of which he is presently the Senior Pastor. He preaches the word of God in truth and power. The gifts of the spirit are affirmed upon his life and are very empowering to his ministry. He is becoming sought after by many ministries to declare the gospel in conference, seminar, and special service applications.

Pastor Purnell is a high school graduate and a college student for three years. He has taught Bible College and Seminary applications and is currently in pursuit of his Doctoral of Divinity Degree.

In the year 1998, he was led by the Holy Spirit to Bishop Ralph L. Dennis, Senior Pastor of Kingdom Worship Center in Baltimore, Maryland and presiding prelate of Kingdom Fellowship Covenant Ministries of which Pastor Purnell is currently an official member.

Pastor Purnell continues to provide teaching and preaching to his local fellowship and Christendom at large. He has a passion and urgent desire to preserve excellence and order in the Body of Christ. He is a wise man, full of the Holy Spirit and Gifts of the Spirit. He is committed to the training and development of the saints, bringing them into the ability to realize their purpose and manifest according to their destinies.

Pastor Purnell is the husband of Elder Clara Purnell who serves as Associate Pastor of Solid Foundation. They presently reside in New Castle, DE. He shares with his wife the blessing of one daughter, one son, and two grandsons.
